Creative Approval Environment

Site for AutoTrader.com AdOps clients to review the creatives the AdOps design team create and submit approval or request changes.
The process of building approval pages for creatives our team created was becoming too labor intensive to build manually.

Solution:

Used ColdFusion to code an environment for generating the client approval pages dynamically.

Responsive SRP

The Autotrader site was updated in 2018 to a Mobile-First layout.

Solution:

The site layout change provided the opportunity to shift the native ads built in house to a responsive layout. This allows one ad to serve both mobile and desktop environments, as opposed to building two unique ads. The ad content is stored in an external JSON file, which provides efficiencies in creation and maintanence.

Builder Script

Supporting regional clients of a specific brand requires creating many iterations of an ad.

Solution:

By leveraging the scripting capabilities of the Adobe Creative Suite, I created a script that can process a dataset and generate the many iterations of ads needed very quickly and efficiently.
The script sorts the generated files into subfolders that are ready to go onto the Creative Approval server (above).

The site sponsorship ads have a specific format in the ad server. These forms allow the team to quickly and accurately create the correct code that is needed by the ad server.

Live Stats Image

Show live vehicle stats on an image

Solution:

Use a bluetooth ODBII adapter to record vehicle trip details and store the information in a Google Docs spreadsheet. A custom PHP script pulls in data and generates the image in realtime with the updated statics.
The php script uses .htaccess rewrite rules to format the URL into a standard image URL. The image can be customized slightly by changing the file name.
